Karl Holliman
Karl qualified from the Edinburgh University (The ‘Dick’ Vet) in 1991. In 1994 he joined Cliffe Veterinary Group as an Equine Vet where he is now a Partner. In 1997 he was awarded the Royal College Certificate in Equine Practice. His main veterinary interests are all aspects of Equine Surgery, lameness, stud work and Equine dentistry. Karl is also a qualified Equine Dental Technician having passed the joint British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) & British Veterinary Dental Association (BVDA) Exams and now himself is an examiner. He is also a member of the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT).
Mark Allaway
After many hours spent at the Cliffe Practice while training to become a vet he qualified in 2001 from the Bristol Vet School. He joined Cliffe Veterinary Group in January 2006 as our Senior Small Animal Clinician. With a ESPVS Certificate in small animal surgery Mark spends many hours in our operating theatre, while his pet dog Molly is spoilt rotten by all the staff. In July 2010 Mark became a Partner in the Practice.

Suzanne Holliman
Suzanne qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1993, and started at Cliffe Vets in 1997. Suzanne runs our small animal clinic at Ringmer and her main interests are small animal medicine and opthalmology. Even though she has no cats of her own (the family have 2 dogs) she is the Practice's promotor of improving the health and welfare of cats and in developing cat 'friendly' policies.
Sophie Armstrong Bell
Sophie graduated from Melbourne University, Australia in 2007. She comes from a dairy farm in Victoria where they milk 380 Holstein Friesians. Having been involved with the farm from an early age her interests lie in improving herd fertility. When not at work Sophie enjoys walking with her greyhound Hazel, playing with her horse Gwynie and camping with James in the 101!
Andrew Phillips
Andrew qualified for the Royal Veterinary College in London in July 2008 and started at Cliffe in September. He enjoys all areas of mixed practice but is particularly interested in cattle practice. Andrew would like to become more involved in improving the productivity of beef herds. Out side of work Andrew is fond of rock climbing, mountaineering and cycling.
Nanja Verkuijl DVM, MRCVS
Nanja graduated in 2001 from Ghent university and came over to the UK straight after. Having worked in different practices, she has really found that her passion in the veterinary world lies with farm animals. For the last 5 years she has worked as a farm vet only. She has a keen interest in preventative medicine and health problem investigations on herd level and sheep flock health.
In her spare time you can find her in the garden or hiking and camping anywhere in the UK and Europe.
